Location: Hybrid (Mississauga - Onsite Hybrid)

Duration: 12 months - 1 Year

Rate: Based on Experience

The SAP Technical Specialist position is responsible for managing ABAP Development, configuration,

business process changes, developing functional & technical specifications, testing as well as writing

user manuals and training documentation and for providing business consultancy, change leadership

and system support in the SAP System.

This role engages directly with business users, process owners, management and IT colleagues.

Purpose of position:

To provide ABAP development and technical support for all Canada SAP systems.

Reporting Structure:

This position reports directly to the Director, IT. There are no direct reports to this position.

Business and Technical Skills

Strong technical competency in ABAP and SAP configuration, particularly in SD (Sales and

Distribution) and MM (Materials Management)

Design and deliver effective and efficient applications by developing solutions relating to our SAP

environment

Providing support in customizing the SAP solutions to meet our critical business needs

Completes requirements-gathering and unit testing

Providing technical design, programming, QA testing and debugging of completed programs

Experience with SAP ECC 6.0, ABAP, ABAP Objects, EDI Workbench & IDocs, Enhancement

Framework (BADI's/User Exits)

Experience in development of SAP interfaces

Programming experience in the areas of EDI and application integration

SAP implementation experience for one or more full lifecycles

Experience with newer SAP development tools (WebDynpro, Document Builder, Adobe Interactive

Forms, Fiori, UI5)

Experience developing Smartforms

Understanding of SAP ABAP Authorization Concept

Educational background

Degree / Diploma in Computer Science or related

SAP Certified Development Associate ABAP with SAP NetWeaver and/or equivalent experience

Interpersonal

Forge relationships with the business. Communicate well and clearly, taking the time to

understand user feedback and incorporate into recommendations and requirements

Demonstrate leadership, flexibility and the ability to lead Business Users and effectively interface

with various business managers. Consistently achieving consensus is a key attribute of the

successful incumbent

Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and measured manner

Requirements

7+ years of experience in the process design, configuration, support and trouble-shooting of

responsible SAP modules

Experience with integration and involving non-SAP ERP systems

Organized and task oriented. Ability to work on multiple initiatives and projects concurrently

ensuring that timelines are balanced with resource constraints and resulting deadlines are met

Previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement, involving broad

based information systems and utilizing advanced tools and techniques to effect business change

Experience in at least two of the modules: SD, MM, and FICO

Key Accountabilities:

Analyzes business requirements and designs solutions;

Configures SAP modules, primarily Sales and Distribution, Materials Management and Finance

Develops and supports ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming) programs as required;

Provides detailed written instruction and documentation, provision of end user support, and

training on programs and applications in SAP;

Collects and analyzes facts to identify problems and provide solutions;

Provides end user support for Canada systems as required;

Assist with other IT-related tasks and special projects as assigned by the Team Lead and Director,

Information Technologies.
