The role of the Bilingual Talent Acquisition Specialist is to support the Assistant Director â Human Resources in all areas of recruitment. You will be expected to help develop and implement recruitment strategies that meet the corporate deliverables on diversity and inclusive recruitment to attract the best talent for their teams. You will be expected to develop processes that enhance the staffing experience and offer advisory services to hiring managers and internal staff. You will play an essential role in workforce development, talent acquisition, and HR policies within recruitment. As an HR Generalist, with a passion for recruitment and talent acquisition, you will take responsibility for the” hire to retire” process from engagement to onboarding. You will ensure a seamless and efficient hiring process while engaging with top talent and navigating the complexities of a unionized environment.

Key responsibilities would include:

Recruitment & Selection â develop & implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates, collaborate with hiring managers to understand their needs, manage job postings, screen resumes, conduct interviews, and handle negotiations.

Union Relations â ensure recruitment complies with CBAs and labor laws, maintain working relationships with union representatives, and address any related union issues during the recruitment process.

Candidate Experience â maintain contact with candidates and ensure timely communication and feedback, facilitate background checks, and onboarding processes, and ensure smooth career transition through conducting new hire orientation.

Data Management & Reporting â maintain accurate and current recruitment records, review recruitment metrics, and report on the success of hiring strategies.

The Ideal Candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of experience working in recruitment, ideally within a unionized environment. You will understand the staffing nuances within a unionized culture and bring required experience in employment equity and diversity lens to your role. In an advisory capacity, you will be able to demonstrate experience with equity practices, and proven ability to incorporate equity and diversity into HR best practices. Proven expertise in full cycle recruitment, and social media recruitment strategies is imperative to success in this role. Understanding of sensitivities between bargaining agents is critical and commitment to equity principles will be expected. We are looking for someone who is a technology guru and can adapt to new systems with ease. You will bring stellar problem-solving skills and a proven track record of positively influencing results with your persuasive nature. You will demonstrate excellent judgment in a variety of HR matters and be able to work with managers across the organization to access talent. Fluency in English & French is necessary as you will be expected to conduct interviews in both languages.
