Steampunk is seeking a Web Content Specialist with an appetite for taking on new challenges. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, detail oriented, analytical, able to follow established procedures, as well as be a team player who can coordinate among multiple content creators and reviewers. Contributions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assisting the web development team with all aspects of website and application design
Applying user feedback to identify and correct problems with a client's website
Assist with the testing and maintenance of backend and front-end applications
Assist with the testing and compliance of websites
Manage and maintain content repositories, including content management systems (CMS), and ensure content is organized and easily accessible for future use.
Work collaboratively with a team and able to work under tight time constraints
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and established protocols to complete tasks in a timely manner
Necessary Skill Set:
Strong project management skills with the ability to priorities tasks and meet deadlines
Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Good planning, analytical, and decision-making skills
Familiar with Section 508 standards and compliance as it applies to websites
Strong customer service skills, teaming skills, and the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team.
Ability to research and resolve problems efficiently and accurately
Comfortable interfacing with clients and solving user requests
Keeping up to date with the latest technology and programming trends
Programming Languages:
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and other relevant programming languages
Use the Accessible Name and Description Inspector (ANDI), Web Accessibility Tool (WAT), and/or SiteImprove to test websites for Section 508 compliance
Preferred: Individuals with a DHS Trusted Tester Certification
Qualifications
Required
US Citizen
Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in website and application design
Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in managing and maintaining content repositories and content management systems (Bonus: Drupal)
Minimum of five (5) years of experience and demonstratable proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and other relevant programming languages
Education: Associate degree with a preference of bachelor’s degree, or higher, in an IT-related field.
Basic knowledge of website compliance in relation to Section 508 standards
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff
Work collaboratively with a team and able to work under tight time constraints
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and established protocols to complete tasks on a regular basis
Preferred
Active and current DHS Trusted Tester Certification
Public Trust Background Investigation
Experience using SharePoint 2019, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft 365
