Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a seasoned network engineering professional to manage all network infrastructure needs within the Annapolis Junction, MD location. The responsibilities for this position include:

Network Administration: Provides for the design, engineering, technical documentation, implementation, troubleshooting, and repair of network systems (routing, switching, firewall and voice instruments).

Monitors the networks using approved network management tools for system outages as well as the network for bottlenecks in performance; Recommends improvements to management.

Installs and maintains infrastructure copper and fiber-optic cabling according to ITD Policy and IEEE standards.

Maintains a spares inventory for all infrastructure data and voice network devices.

Manages and maintains an adequate inventory of consumables in order to meet mission requirements including copper and fiber-optic cabling, SFP’s, connectors / terminators, and other network tools and equipment.

Interfaces with Cisco TAC as an authorized representative, in the event of hardware or software failures on network devices.

Maintains warranty information; ensure that the infrastructure systems are monitored with regards to warranty status.

Ensures the timely resolution of hardware and software problems associated with the data and voice network.

Work with Campus Support Technicians to support the end users as needed.

Provide 2nd and 3rd Tier hardware and software support for end-users.

Provide after-hours support for planned maintenance, updates to technology, hardware and software changes during non-business production hours.

Perform On-Call Emergency support service.

Qualifications

Required:

Active TS/SCI clearance w/ poly

Minimum of 8 years experience in the management of the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure within an organization, including the physical network (e.g., LANs/WANs, servers, terminals) as well as server applications and software

A technical or IT bachelor's degree is required

An additional 4 years of experience can be substituted for the degree requirement

Minimum of 5 years experience in network administration to include the design, engineering, technical documentation, implementation, troubleshooting, and repair of network systems (routing, switching, firewall and voice instruments)

Desired:

Active CCNA certification or desire to achieve.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
