SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION:

As a Director - IS - BI Enterprise, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the Information Systems (IS) related to Business Intelligence (BI) within our organization. Your responsibilities will revolve around managing the day-to-day operations of BI projects and systems, ensuring that they are aligned with the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. This entails leveraging technology effectively to support decision-making processes, optimize business performance, and drive overall organizational success.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

People Planning/Development

Create a vision and roadmap for the team, providing direction and alignment of priorities with tactical and strategic objectives.

Delegate responsibilities to reporting personnel, establishing clear lines of responsibility and accountability.

Elevate team members' thinking and understanding of the field by infusing best practice knowledge into the work.

Lead the selection, development, mentoring, and coaching of direct and indirect reports.

Ensure job requirements and goals for each position are clear to employees, and that Medical Center initiatives, priorities, standards, and policies are effectively communicated and understood.

Department Leadership

Propose, research, and manage the development, implementation, and assessment of long and short-term technology goals and objectives in collaboration with department leadership.

Operationalize, implement, and monitor assigned initiatives.

Drive execution of the assigned projects and project components.

Act together with management as a champion for positive organizational culture and quality of work life.

System Design and Strategy

Lead the development, design, and implementation of systems and technology that meet workforce and patient care needs, are cost-effective, and consistent with best practice.

Ensure development and maintenance of policies and practices in support of processes.

Develop and deliver effective communications and training to users.

Consult with staff and managers and provide guidance.

Provide oversight for relevant vendor relationships, RFPs, and vendor selections.

Financial Management

In collaboration with leadership, develop, implement, and evaluate the department's annual and capital budget to achieve organizational and departmental objectives.

Recommend a salary budget supporting the required FTE's to meet departmental needs.

Monitor expenses; evaluate variances, determine underlying causes, and identify, present, and implement proposed solutions.

Accountable for compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.

Customer Focus

Provide leadership for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects, ensuring consistency with organizational strategy, commitments, and goals.

Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements.

Define and manage the project budget.

Develop project plans resource allocation, and timeline.

Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.

Direct assigned project team ensuring effective utilization of resources.

Monitor project deliverables and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.

Provide input on departmental strategy and planning with a focus on areas of functional responsibility.

Ensure functional area(s) provide outstanding end-user support, including ongoing monitoring of Service Level Attainment for incident management and collaboration with other functional areas to ensure customer-centered incident management and support.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

Bachelor's degree in a related field

7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred:

Proficiency in BI technologies and tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or SAP BusinessObjects.

Epic Cogito, Nebual, and CoIN

Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and ETL processes.

Experience with data visualization, dashboard development, and report generation.

Knowledge of advanced analytics and predictive modeling techniques.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
