Job Overview:

The Cloud Architect is accountable for defining and delivering our enterprise cloud governance model. The ideal candidate will lead the definition of the desired target state, create the associated roadmaps, and consult internal IT staff on infrastructure and cloud related initiatives. Work with the latest technologies through vendor relationships and proof of concepts, solving large complex problems, and defining new technology enabled opportunities. The architect will work closely with Engineering, Security, Development, and Enterprise Application owners to ensure the design, implementation, and integration of technologies within each team are aligned to meet industry standards, help achieve our strategic goals, and bring these teams together to ensure development and adoption of technologies integrate and work seamlessly.

• Extensive/broad experience managing and guiding an organization in their Cloud transformation

• Extensive AWS knowledge/experience with AWS DevOps, and Azure AD

• Complimentary knowledge/skills such as Dev/Scripting to assist in Automation and Cloud Security

Responsibilities:

• Serve as lead of our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) and be responsible for defining and delivering our enterprise cloud governance model

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, product vendors, other third-party service providers, and the customer in the strategic design process to translate business needs into platform/custom solutions

• Provide technical architecture leadership and direction on projects resulting in scalable, reliable, and maintainable platforms

• Recommend Information Technology and cloud solutions and/or strategies by using technical breadth across multiple areas

• Manage strategic alliances among partners, key business stakeholders, and IT teams to promote adoption and interoperability of applications and infrastructure solutions in a cloud environment

• Identify new product features and feature gaps, provide guidance on existing product issues, and collaborate with Engineering, Development, and Security teams in solution creation to influence the growth of the cloud adoption

• Serve as a technical leader undertaking complex initiatives requiring specialized technical knowledge

• Partner across business and technology disciplines to present and deliver the needed architectures focusing on a cloud first mentality

• Lead discussions with key stakeholders to design a hybrid cloud disaster recovery (DR) strategy and guide internal and external resources through deployment and testing processes

• Participate as part of our enterprise DR leadership team to ensure business outcomes are met through proper infrastructure design and testing methodologies

• Work with strategic vendors and partners to review and influence product roadmaps, strategies, execute PoC’s, and identify gaps and solutions

• Generate and maintaining IT standards and procedures

• Participate in industry-related conferences and events

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent and related work experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud specific IT functions

• Technical expertise in cloud and on-prem computing, storage, and networking architecture

• Demonstrated technical expertise in Cloud Governance

• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing AWS-based technology platforms and capabilities including, but not limited to, Virtual Networks, Load Balancers, Direct Connect, Azure Active Directory, Virtual Machine instances, Storage, Blob Storage, Archive Storage, Security Hub, Global Accelerator, Cloud Analytics, and CloudWatch among others

• Deep understanding of various services and solutions - DRaaS, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS including all cloud models (public, private, hybrid, multi)

• Solid understanding of cloud economics and best practices and methods for financial optimization of infrastructure, platform and application costs.

• Experience creating, deploying, configuring, and scaling applications in AWS

• Deep level architecture knowledge of the leading public cloud providers

• Deep understanding and experience of scaling cloud environments for business needs, including understanding current/future business requirements, cost associated with scale, and ROI associated with cloud technologies

• Demonstrated ability to lift and shift existing applications to public, private, hybrid and multi-cloud environments

• Expert level understanding of on-premises/edge infrastructure design (storage, compute, network)

• Expert level understanding of current vendor technology offerings in the hybrid cloud space
