Welding Technology Professor: (New position pending budget approval)

Responsible for classroom and lab instruction in Grayson College's welding technology program. This position will be assigned instructional duties primarily on the South campus of Grayson College. However, scheduling may include off campus sites such as the College's main Campus and/or any number of dual credit campus sites in our service area.

Responsible to the Department Chair of Industrial Technologies and the Dean of Academic and Workforce Instruction.

The salary for this position is based on the Grayson College 2023-2024 Faculty Salary Scale,

Responsibilities

65% Teaches assigned classes and labs in the following welding processes: FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, and Oxyfuel welding, brazing and cutting. Evaluates student performances. May be required to teach a combination of credit and CE courses to college and/or high school students. Teaching hours may be a combination of morning, afternoon and/or night sessions.

10% Works as a team member in the Welding Department; complies with the "faculty responsibilities" as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and the College's Policy and Procedure Manual.

10% Develops and updates curriculum as updated by the State of Texas, participates in college committees and assists in registration, advisement and recruiting of students.

10% Contributes to campus assessment process by measuring and reporting student learning outcomes as directed to meet THECB Core Objectives and SACSCOC requirements.

5% Performs other duties as assigned by the Dean and Department Chair.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Welding Technologies is required. An advanced degree is preferred.

Minimum of three years of welding experience is required.

Five years industry experience is preferred.

Must maintain collegial attitude with college community as well as outside entities.

Must exhibit cooperative attitude and excellent team skills.

Position requires excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Position requires excellent communication and organization skills.

Classroom teaching experience with high school and adult students (or "in a high school, community college or trade school environment") preferred.

This position requires original transcripts and three professional references. This position is considered a security sensitive position and will require a criminal background check.
