Full Job Description

The Quality Control Manager oversees the Inbound Quality Control department to ensure all parts are inspected according to inspection standards and engineering drawings. The Quality Control Manager will lead a team to:

Assess all processes and procedures for compliance with all other accreditation requirements

Continuously seek continuous improvement opportunities

Identify training needs and action taken to ensure compliance

Provide training and support to Inbound QC team members

Ensure all inbound parts are inspected in a timely manner according to drawing specifications

Optimize and implement the quality inspection new procedures

Ensure adherence to current processes and procedures as well as health and safety guidelines

Conduct a failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) of designs and processes as part of risk management

Write work instructions and other documents required

Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager

Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent

2+ years in QC/ Engineering Management with direct reports preferably in the area of medical device manufacturing or instrumentation

Experience in designing and implementing new processes

Proficient in 3D solid modeling CAD (preferably SolidWorks 2017 or above)

Exposure to ISO quality systems (ISO 9001 or ISO 13485) and manufacturing environment an asset

Familiarity with AQL standards

Working knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T

Basic understanding of electronics an asset

Strong computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel & MS Project)
