Change.org is searching for a Communications Specialist to help grow brand awareness and credibility through various communications activities, such as public and media relations, and social media.

From mobilizing over 5 million people to investigate the fires in the Amazon, to mobilizing nearly 3 million against war and famine in Yemen, to large-scale mobilizations for the people of Iran and against the war in Ukraine, and calling for Racial Justice in the US, many movements were born on Change.org. You will report to our Senior Communications Manager. As a key member of our Communications and Marketing team, you will:

Proactively identify opportunities and pitch campaigns to national, regional and local media outlets to build brand awareness and promote positive campaign outcomes

Build and maintain your network of journalists, influencers, experts and change makers to drive campaign success and brand awareness

Produce compelling content for press releases, website and social media, with a focus on relevant audiences and the right tone of voice

Stay up to date with daily news and in tune with the pulse of relevant issues, identifying how they relate to our campaigns

Guide and monitor social media channels and identify opportunities for collaboration with relevant partners in the social space

The most important qualifications for the role are:

Produce high quality content, love storytelling and finding the relevant angle for your target audience

Identify the right publications and journalists, build strong distribution lists and find relevant angles and the right tone of voice to pitch campaigns

Continually develop your network of journalists, influencers, and other relevant groups

Experience working across a range of social media platforms and using content creation tools such as Canva or similar

Experience with media monitoring and mailing tools such as Meltwater, Zimpel or similar

You are detail-oriented, precise, organized and structured, while keeping an eye on the bigger picture

Target experience:

5+ years of industry level experience working in PR, communications or related field with focus on media and influencer relations

2+ years of experience working with social media, including content creation and experience with relevant tools

Excellent written and spoken German (native level) and advanced English

Change.org is a global company, and salaries are adjusted for cost of labor in each location. The annual salary of a Communications Specialist is 58,000 EUR in Germany.
