Overview:

ISS ESG offers expertise across a full range of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues – having worked with leading asset owners and asset managers to develop solutions to integrate Responsible Investment (RI) into the creation of long-term value based on market understanding and expert analysis. ISS Manila is looking for ESG Data Team Lead/Manager who will be joining ISS ESG Data Team on regular full-time basis.

Responsibilities:

If tasked to contribute to production deliverables, produce error-free data within the standard time and in compliance with existing work process standards (usually for high-profile companies)

Manage workflow and ensure timely delivery of data profiles in accordance with established production schedules

Develop and maintain methodology and procedures manuals for data collection and provide resources/opportunities to address needs for expertise development

Monitor and analyze performance metrics and lead a team of analysts to achieve internal business goals

Research, recommend, and implement technology and content opportunities to improve product quality and operational efficiencies

Handle recruitment, selection and onboarding of new staff

May perform people management and administrative functions, thereby undertaking performance reviews and regular appraisals to ensure each team member works towards clearly defined and accepted professional and personal goals

Serve as key subject matter expert, thus able to train/ mentor more junior-level employees, set data definitions and contribute to collection methodology refinement

Communicate upstream and downstream effects of process changes and facilitate orderly transition.

Collaborate with other teams in support of planned product enhancements and extensions

Qualifications:

Degree in Business, Legal Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Social Sciences, Communication or any equivalent/related course;

At least 6-7 years of related work experience (i.e. library / database research) in a high-quality and hard deadline-driven environment, with at least 2-3 years of experience in leading teams. Knowledge of corporate governance and/or financial markets is an advantage

Excellent English communication (both oral and written) and reading comprehension skills;

Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with clear attention to detail

Ability to prioritize and work under tight deadlines

Good judgment in assessing available information and understanding the downstream effects of operational decisions on final product output

Highly motivated, independent, adaptable and results-driven with a strong sense of ownership

Assertive and highly-engaged, especially during team meetings

Proficient with the use of technology and able to learn new applications on their own. Experience in web-based searching, Excel and common office applications, data management and data mining technologies preferred.

Strong both as an individual contributor, as well as a team-player

Takes pride in developing people

Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams
