Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Mechanic

Job Location: North Chicago, IL

Job Type: Temp to Hire

Pay: * Competitive Pay *

Shift Structure: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM – 2:300 PM, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

Our client is urgently hiring for a hardworking and skilled Facilities Maintenance Mechanic who can get the job done within a distribution/production plant.

About the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic:

The ideal Maintenance candidates will have the following skills and experience:

Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures and pipe systems

Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings gears and other parts of equipment

Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures

Visually inspects and tests equipment

Listens for unusual sounds from machines and diagnose the malfunctions along with being able to communicate with Supervisor and teammates of the issue(s)

Assemble, install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic pipe systems

Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut and join metal parts

Leadership Skills

Able to assist in training fellow employees

Other Duties:

Keep work area clean and neat

Follow all Company’s safety policies

Execution of activities as assigned

Responsibilities involving food safety, when required

Qualifications of the Facilities Maintenance Mechanic:

High school diploma or equivalent

Must be able to read and write in English

Must be able to perform basic Math

Able to use judgement and analytical skills to determine the solution to maintenance situations

Must have own tools and toolbox to perform repairs (Note: The Company will only provide specialty tools)
