Job Description

Rinker Design Associates, LLC, is seeking a Virginia and Maryland Licensed Land Surveyor based out of RDA’s Manassas office. This individual will report to the Director of Survey and be responsible for managing all projects and ensuring the preparation of products is accurate, complete and to the RDA standard.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee all projects to ensure that the work is executed on time, on budget, in accordance with the client's requirements and within company policies and procedures.

Ensure the preparation of accurate, complete and RDA standard / client compliant products by personal oversight or effective delegation of task or project management.

Responsible for delegating or providing work assignments and review performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff, and to ensure survey staff under his or her charge meets and/or exceeds target utilization goals.

Routinely interacts with organization leaders, clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.

Stays current on surveying trends and developments to recommend department changes.

Ensure timely services, QA/QC compliant document delivery by personal oversight or effective delegation of task or project management.

Responsible for overseeing the daily operations, facilities monetary expenditures, facilities use maintenance and appearance.

Responsible for overseeing or assigning the duty of weekly staff time sheet approval.

Meets with prospective clients, prepare proposals, and establish budgets and schedules

Maintains close liaison with clients to resolve all project questions, such as, but not limited to, technical requirements, completion requirements and billing inquiries

Compiles project status reports

Responsible for, or assisting the Director, with the following: presentation and proposal preparation and yearly financial and goal planning

Education/Experience

Professional Licensed Surveyor in Virginia (VA) & Maryland (MD)

Bachelor’s Degree and/or associate degree.

At least 10 years of survey experience

Understanding VDOT and local policies and procedures is desirable.
