Job Summary

Host or Hostess welcome patrons, escort them at designated table or in the lounge area and ensure quality of facilities and service. Job Duties & Responsibilities

Greet guests and escort them at their table or within waiting area.

Provide guests with menus.

Assign patrons to tables suitable for their needs and according to the rotation so that servers receive an appropriate amount of seating.

Speak with patrons to ensure satisfaction with food and service, to respond to complaints, or to make conversation.

Answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls when needed.

Take and prepare to-go orders.

Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages. (not sure)

Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customers' concerns are addressed.

Inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup.

Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure that patrons receive prompt and courteous service.

Receive and record patrons' dining reservations.

Inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and clean restrooms when necessary.

Plan parties or other special events and services.

Help coworkers to improve workflow and customer service.

Performs other related duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Well-organized with ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.

Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.Education and Experience:

Previous experience as a host/hostess preferred.

Must successfully complete restaurants training course.Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
