Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Quality Improvement Engineer II is responsible for analyzing trends, determining underlying causes

to systemic quality deficiencies, and leading improvement projects. Responsibilities also include creating

process metrics, coordinating major production approval deliverables, and conducting internal audits.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be a team player that collaborates with peers in a respectful manner.

Represents the company’s quality system to media, government agencies, funding agencies,

customers, and the public.

Analyzes system data to determine major contributors to poor performing processes.

Proactively determines possible failure modes in the manufacturing process and suggests steps for

preventive action.

Evaluates project performance while the project is active and upon project completion.

Leads cross functional teams in developing and improving systems.

Drives positive culture change.

Acts as a subject matter expert for data acquisition and other QA software.

Performs other assigned duties as deemed necessary by their manager.

Mentors Lean Six Sigma Green Belt candidates.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates and creates PFMEA, MSA, and Capability Studies for customer deliverables and to

improve manufacturing processes.

Analyzes production and supplier nonconformance data to determine cause.

Analyzes customer returns to determine underlying root causes.

Improves QMS documents and ensures a fully integrated process approach is maintained.

Acts as a Liaison for third party audits.

Uses statistical methods to quantify variation and uncertainty.

Establishes metrics and methods for calculating, compiling, and reporting.

Acts as the subject matter expert for Minitab software.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

10 years of progressive Quality Assurance experience.

Relevant industry experience.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend

and/or evening work.
