Reports To: Fleet Manager
Summary: Fleet mechanic to perform routine preventative maintenance on company fleet of ambulances and passenger vehicles. Our current fleet vehicles are all gasoline engines and mostly Ford E-series vehicles or Ram Promasters. The Fleet Mechanic should be well-versed in mechanical or electronical systems of vehicles and have excellent problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
Perform vehicle Preventive maintenance (PM) work such as oil changes and brakes.
Tire mounting and changing
Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.)
Repair or replace broken parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
Keep logs on work and issues.
Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade.
Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
Specialty tools provided by the company.Requirements:
Requirements
High school diploma is required; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred.
Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift)
Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
· Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles
Pay rate based on combination of experience and certifications.
Prior experience working on ambulances is a plus.

· Able to work independently or as part of a team.
· Ability to create and maintain a positive and cooperative working environment in stressful situations.
· Can work during odd hours and for extended periods, sometimes outdoors and in adverse weather conditions.
· Able to work with much standing, bending, and kneeling.
