Job Title: Host/Hostess
Reports To: Dining Room Manager
Position Purpose: Greets and seats members and guests. Assists in the maintenance of the dining room and helps to assure member satisfaction standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Make eye contact and greets each member, and guest, with a smile and pleasant greeting.
Seats members and guests, and distributes menus, in such a manner as to balance customer flow among the various service stations.
Maintains an accurate count of covers for each server.
Manages special seating request of members consistent with table availability.
Addresses all members by name, when possible.
Maintains order and cleanliness of podium.
Keeps menus clean, organized, and up to date.
Assists in the resolution of member and guest problems and complaints and notifies the manager of each occurrence.
Assists with table clearing and resetting as needed.
Suggests when additional service supplies and small equipment are needed.
Enforces established rules, regulations and policies of the Club, including cell phone usage, proper attire and rules regarding children in the Library Bar.
Assists in dining room inventory assessment.
Attends pre-meal meetings.
Turns in daily gratuity report along with the server’s checks.
Performs any and all other duties assigned by supervisor.
Education and Work Experience Qualifications
Prior food service experience in catering, hotel or club is preferred.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule with weekends, evenings and holidays.
