Harper Engineering Co. is looking for a dynamic highly skilled Lead Quality Inspector to join our Quality team. As a key member of the Quality team, the Lead Inspector will be responsible for ensuring all products, materials and services provided meet the requirements established by customers, procedures, and specifications.

Job Summary:
The Lead Quality Inspector works to identify defects or deviations from established standards, collaborates with other departments to implement and enhance quality assurance programs, and provides guidance and training to the inspection team. They will work closely with the Quality Engineer to create FAI's to AS9102 standards, define and improve inspection plans, communicate priorities within the inspection team and be the first line of Quality Assurance expertise on the manufacturing floor.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Accurately use common measurement tools, such as micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.
Use advanced measurement tools, such as coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and optical comparators
Reads and interprets engineering drawings, customer specifications
Uses statistical sampling plans, such ASQ-ANSIZ1.4 or similar
Understands the ISO9001/AS9100 and how it applies to a Quality Control position.
Matches colors, textures, and appearances to established standards
Verifies the proper functionality of final assemblies
Ability to work as a team, both within and outside of the department
Must be able to follow instructions (Written and Verbal) and work independently with minimal supervision and minimal mistakes
Understanding of Geometric Dimensions & Tolerances
Understanding of calibration and calibration systems
Intermediate computer skills, such as the ability to navigate Windows operating systems and ERP
Transportation: Ability to travel between Harper Facilities when required without prior notice
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Sit for extended periods of time, full dexterity to reach, push, pull complex assemblies
Perform Receiving, In-Process and Final Inspection
Perform AS9102 based First Article InspectionsRequirements:
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Must have strong communications skills
Must be able to work under high pressure and be able to meet deadlines
Must have intermediate computer skills, such as the ability to navigate Windows operating systems and ERP
Must be able to work independently
Must be Team oriented and be able to work with all levels of employees
Must be attentive and maintain 98% quality rating
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
5 years minimum of directly related experience
1 year of lead experience
CMM programming experience
