ERG is seeking several junior and mid-level engineers and scientists of varying disciplines to provide full-time research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) support onsite at a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland, in the Washington, DC metro area.

Alternative work schedules may be considered.

Engineering disciplines include chemical, electrical, aerospace, and mechanical (or related). Science degrees include biology, microbiology, chemistry, physics, and materials science (or related).

Design and execute test and evaluation plans for the characterization of energetic materials

Operate analysis equipment during tests and gather data

Apply statistical principles to verify test precision and accuracy. Evaluate test results

Utilize advanced diagnostics data analysis tools and software to provide energetic material testing and evaluation

Recommend changes to explosives, propellant, and insensitive munition formulations to achieve improved performance and safety

Document recommendations and proposed course of action in reports or information papers as required

Prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs), engineering procedures (EPs), Laboratory Review Forms (LRFs), Lab Notebook Procedures (LNPs), and other technical documentation

Support or lead peer-review processes of technical documentation

Interact with technical customers to provide schedules, cost estimates, reports, and presentations on the status of RDT&E projects

Qualifications and Skills:

Master’s degree in chemical, electrical, aerospace, and mechanical (or related) or biology, microbiology, chemistry, physics, and materials science (or related)

2-3 years of experience, engineer/scientist, lab work, research/test evaluation department

Minimum GPA of 3.0 (college transcripts required)

Strong writing and communication skills

Competence in using spreadsheet and database software to compile, analyze, and present data

Strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects

Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance; Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
