General Description:

Functions in accordance with plans and policies established by the Board of Directors and performs duties within the medical setting as a member of the care team providing medical care.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provides general care for patients commensurate with training, experience, and clinical needs; to include well check visits, acute illness visits, family planning, etc.

Maintains timely and accurate electronic medical record documentation on all patients including office visits, telephone calls, hospital visits and admissions

Prepares timely and accurate billing charges

Makes appropriate referrals to other health facilities for further testing, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care

Manages patient utilization of services as part of a patient centered medical home

Participates in AAAHC on-going readiness

Participates in Peer Review and Quality Improvement Program

Co-chairs and actively participates in daily huddles as part of the patient centered medical home model

Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competency by maintaining current, up-to-date knowledge in the field of Medicine

Strives to achieve goals of the health care plan and participates in annual updates

Participates in twenty-four (24) hour telephone coverage

Timely and accurately enters patient data into an electronic health record per agency standards

Maintains current Board Certification in Specialty

Periodically supervises and teaches Residents, Medical Students, and other allied health professionals

May be required to work multiple locations

Minimum Qualifications:

Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients, co-workers, other medical provider and vendors

Able to relate with people of different ethnic origins, economic status, religious affiliations or practices, and gender orientation

Able to operate and communicate clearly

Ability to navigate and enter data into an electronic health record

Graduation from an accredited medical school

Gradation from an accredited residency program

Valid and current State of Florida Medical License

Valid and current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Registration Certificate

Board Certified or Board Eligible in primary specialty. If Board Eligible, certificate should be obtained within 1 year from start of employment

Maintains BLS Certification
