Head of Engineering will oversee all engineering aspects across their area of responsibility. Co-develop and implement the engineering strategy and direct their teams to engineering excellence. Work with their teams to assist customers in designing the right product but also to support project management and product development. Inspire and motivate their staff to achieve new levels and mentor them as they develop new skills and abilities. Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste. Passionate about technology and will report on technical topics to a wide audience.

The Head of Engineering is responsible for collaborating with peers and cross-functional partners to design methods that maximize safety, quality and process capability including, but not limited to capacity, material handling, systems and technology changes. The Head of Engineering will play a key role in labor planning and analysis of staffing requirements as well as budgeting and analysis of capital investments. This colleague will also manage scaling and implementation at the local level of process improvement projects and enhanced systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

Promote the engineering strategy and standards

Evaluate new engineering and process technologies, propose technical solutions

Develop and prioritize processes and projects

Coordinate with local sales and manufacturing to further develop markets, products, and procedures

Direct Project Managers and coordinate projects through to completion

Must be flexible to working overtime

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BS degree in technical field (Master is a plus)

Excellent leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Proficient in MS Office and ERP application (SAP)

Motivator, strong messenger of the company’s policies and values

Preferably, background working in the mechanical field.

10-20 years proven work experience as a manufacturing engineer or as a industrial manufacturing professional

5 years proven experience managing staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel

Excellent process and application knowledge, interpersonal and organizational skills.

Preferably, knowledge of production requirements within the medical device industry

Excellent English language skills (spoken and written)

Exceptional and open communication skills with the ability to work in a global team environment as well as independently.

Based in our plant in the U.S. but potential for travel, conducting your duties abroad.
