OSP Field Engineer

Exciting OSP Field Engineer career opportunity in the DFW metro area available with a growing fiber internet provider!

The OSP Engineer will assume the responsibility of performing QA/QC on vendor drawings for OSP FTTH/B (fiber to the home/business) engineering projects. This role involves extensive fieldwork, focusing on data verification for FTTH/FTTB projects. Acting as a crucial liaison between approved engineering vendors and ISP, the OSP Engineer will engage in various duties, including but not limited to locating, sketching, and meticulously documenting detailed information about OSP facilities such as cables, poles, ground structures, terminals, manholes, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Measure attachment heights, span distances, and structure dimensions

Measure distances from existing/proposed OSP facilities

Capture precise field notes, take measurements, and generate sketches

Develop accurate network documentation and schematics

Conduct site surveys to gather essential information for project planning

Implement QC/redlining on OSP drawings to ensure accuracy

Frequent travel to different sites is required, with paid mileage at the government rate and maintenance of a mileage log for personal vehicle use

This role is critical in maintaining the quality and accuracy of OSP engineering projects, contributing to the overall success of FTTH/B initiatives
