A great UHY client is seeking a HR Generalist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience with benefits, policies and procedures, and recruitment.
The HR Generalist role is a mostly remote position (principally home based, but office hours will sometimes be required). This is a client direct hire position.
HR Generalist Responsibilities:
Employee Relations
Develop, recommend, and implement various human resources plans and procedures for company personnel.
Play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills, developing the talent, and contributing to satisfaction in our actual human resources, the people in our companies.
Implements, writes or rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and establishes salary bands; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering policies/procedures and helping resolve work-related problems.
Assist management with problems encountered and observe for accuracy and completeness of appropriate documentation/forms.
Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
Establish and manage process around onboarding, discipline/performance improvement plans, and termination.
Recruitment
Source candidates on job boards, resume databases, professional networks and through referrals
Work closely with hiring managers in various departments to define recruitment needs and plan the hiring process
Set hiring goals (e.g. quarterly and annual)
Track recruitment KPIs, like time to hire, source of hire, cost to hire, and time to fill
Manage all communication with candidates from the moment they apply until they onboard
Interview candidates at various stages of the hiring process
HR Generalist Skills:
Understanding and knowledge of Federal and State (MI) employment laws, including FMLA, FLSA, EEO, ADA, Workers’ Comp, Unemployment, Cobra, etc.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
HRIS software / Websites familiarity
Experience with curriculum design and training preferred but not required
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Proficient in MS-Word, MS- Excel, MS-Outlook and MS-PowerPoint.
HR Generalist Required Experience/Education:
5+ years in human resources and recruiting
Experience in restoration or construction industries preferred but not required
High School Diploma or equivalent
4-year college degree and/or exclusive training/experience in all HR subject matter
