Wally's is a company with a 50 year history in as the Number One Wine Store in Los Angeles (Zagat Guide.) Four years ago we launched our new concept, a restaurant/wine store in Santa Monica offering Farmer's Market Driven, Southern French/Mediterranean/Californian Cuisine. Since then we have been an amazing success, and the restaurant was awarded Wine Spectator's coveted Grand Award (only 91 restaurants in the world possess this distinction) in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020!

Cheesemongers share their knowledge with guests and provide them with the perfect cheeses and specialty foods for all occasions. As a member of the team, you will greet and assist guests on the retail sales floor and over the phone. You will build and maintain client relationships and continue to be educated on cheese and food industry trends. If you are a well-rounded, positive individual with excellent communication skills and cheese knowledge who thrives in a fast paced, demanding environment, this is a wonderful opportunity for you!

Duties and Responsibilities:

Greeting customers & providing the highest level of customer service

Preparing cheeses, meats & sandwiches

Cleaning and selling cheese and charcuterie for retail and restaurant service

Qualifications:

MUST have WEEKEND Availability

Must speak, write and understand English as you will be dealing with the public.

Experience in cheese and specialty food sales (retail or wholesale)

Current food handler certificate

Excellent knife skills

Knowledge of caviar, truffles, craft chocolates, and olive oils preferred

Strong desire for ongoing learning

Ability to prioritize and multitask

Work in a team environment and accept direction from Supervisors
