Laser Machine Operator

Job Description

Location: Buffalo Grove, IL

Hours: 6:30 am – 3:00 pm Monday – Friday

Pay Rate: $25.00/ Hr.

Position Overview:

The Laser Operating Lead reports to the Production Supervisor and is primarily responsible for timely processing of production orders using printing and etching equipment. This role ensures adherence to safety protocols, maintains equipment, and assists with various production functions to support business operations.

Position Responsibilities:

Adhere to safety procedures and company policies.

Change equipment fixtures for etching and pad printing machines as required.

Mix daily ink recipe for pad print production and dispose of waste safely.

Load and store cliché and stamps for pad printing equipment.

Monitor oven temperatures and maintain cleanliness of oil bathing station.

Program laser graphics per work order.

Maintain and monitor equipment for repair and calibration needs.

Inspect finished goods for consistent quality output.

Evaluate daily work order schedules and assign work to Production Associates based on due dates.

Print daily work schedules and KPI indicator charts.

Physically verify accuracy of picked line items on Production Orders.

Ensure timely completion of post-production paperwork and electronic transactions.

Assist warehouse and accounting teams with inventory discrepancies and material conflict resolution.

Participate in assigned 5-S housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness of production areas.

Assist Management in training, coaching, and monitoring performance metrics of Production team.

Train new Production team members on work processes and instructions.

Ensure customer satisfaction by assisting team members.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Knowledge: High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2-3 years of warehousing/production experience, with previous leadership experience. Familiarity with industrial safety protocols and equipment operation. Basic math skills required.

Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work under deadline pressure and excellent follow-up.

Personal Attributes: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Sense of urgency with a positive attitude. Results-oriented, customer-focused, and flexible for occasional overtime.
