Job Description
Looking for a full-time Optical Lab Technician / Optician for our upscale, high-volume private optometry practice, EYE PEOPLE Optometry. We carry designer brands such as CHANEL, Gucci, Tom Ford, YSL, Versace, Gucci, Tiffany, etc. We have an in-house lab and offer same day service.
We were featured on the TV show, "Destination LA" now airing on CBS.
Full availability is required including weekends.
Prior experience as an optician and optical lab technician is required (if only optician experience, we are willing to train the right candidate to learn optical lab duties).
Duties include edging jobs, blocking lenses, verifying completed glasses with lensometer, frame styling, recommending lens options for patients, scheduling appointments, pre-testing patients, dispensing glasses, checking out patients and pulling insurance authorizations, etc.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience as an optician
- Knowledge of current optical theory, frames, lens materials, lens types and coatings
- Ability to recommend proper lens type and fit for patient
- Ability to troubleshoot
- Previous customer service or retail experience
