Job Description

Position Title: Bookkeeper

Reports to: Principal Partner

Department: Administration

Location: 300 Corporate Point, Culver City, CA 90230

Classification: Full-time; Non-Exempt

Summary / Job Objective: This position requires a professional individual who has analytical and problem-solving skills. This person should also be able to perform a wide range of tasks and projects while working well under pressure. Individual must be comfortable in a friendly but fast paced environment and have the ability to multi-task.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Enter banking transactions into accounting software daily

· Perform bank reconciliations for multiple companies and accounts

· Weekly check deposits

· Assist with the month end close process and adhering to deadlines

· Remit personal property tax returns

· Assist with annual reports

· Support the financial audit by gathering data and preparing schedules

· Reconcile financial discrepancies by analyzing account information

· Ad hoc projects

· Report treasury activity

· Review incoming commissions statements; ensure accuracy

· Work with commissions team to process override payments to agents

· Coordinate with Corporate Payroll, Finance and Accounts Payable for department’s transactions

· May need to assist Corporate Finance Team with annual audit process

· Department lead for employee timesheet review and approval; working closing with Corporate Payroll for timesheet change requests and approvals

· Review Department’s financial reports throughout the month for accuracy and completeness, review with Principal Partner

Qualifications:

· 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred but not required

· Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping, GAAP, financial statements and AP/AR

· Proficient computer skills (excel a must)

· Great Plains experience a plus

· Proficient at spreadsheets, specifically Excel and Word

· Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision

· Proven ability to successfully work within a team, as well as independently

Compensation and Benefits:

· Hourly Rate: $24/hour - $26/hour

· This is a non-exempt, full-time position
