Come and join to the Passive Safety Systems Division as Program Buyer at Chihuahua Plant!

Position Summary

Provide the sourcing requirements and follow up with the commodity buyers the sourcing production components on timely and cost manner according the purchasing procedures directives and budget assigned. Work closely with the supplier to quote and implement changes after the product has been sourced. Support cost savings activities, reporting \ presentations and work closely with other business functions. Maintain BOM costs, negotaitons with suppliers. Responsible for program from business award to end of life. Act as direct link between the project team and MM department.

Responsibilities

Prepare the sourcing plan, plan the project needs and dates, define target prices, priorities, categorize the parts.

Run with Commodity and SDE support the technical reviews with suppliers during the sourcing phase

Assure the project milestones (under Purchasing responsibility) and the cost targets

Follow up regularly project KPI's : BOM cost, changes impact, tooling costs, OTS, OTP.

Worlk closely with the commodity buyer and follow up to complete the sourcing process on time and cost manner.

Work closely with the commodity buyer and agree with the recommendation for supplier selection, with focus on sourcing in low-cost countries.

Support solving issues with suppliers related with capacity, payments, etc

Work with suppliers to develop continuous improvement plans and metrics to monitor performance.

Participate, as needed, on ZF Teams and effectively interact with other Purchasing employees, ZF departments and/or manufacturing plant personnel.

This position will require some travel, globally or regionally depending on assigned commodities. Position may also provide advice/guidance to Buyers or Senior Buyers within the Commodity or Global Purchasing function and/or lead special projects as assigned by senior leadership.

Requirements

Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing the supply base post-negotiations (Experience in Automotive industry)

Prior purchasing experience involving spend in excess of $1 million (preferable)

Prior experience with global or regional sourcing processes/decision making.

Demonstrated performance in working cross-functionally and/or within a matrixed organization and working independently to obtain results

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Prior experience preparing and delivering presentations to senior management as well as experience presenting information to suppliers and internal customers

Able to independently troubleshoot issues/concerns and determine course of action

High level of independent judgment

Excellent verbal and written communication, and analytical and leadership skills.

Experience with production (direct) purchasing service componets for different commodities (preferred)

SAP Experience required
