About the Role:

The Production Manager will oversee all daily operations of the millwork shop from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead all operational activities of the millwork and cabinet shop, from production planning to quality control, to ensure seamless execution of projects.

Foster a culture of excellence and teamwork among staff members, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to optimize performance and morale.

Cultivate strong relationships with clients, architects, designers, and contractors to understand their needs and expectations, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.

Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive business growth, enhance operational efficiency, and expand market presence while staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.

Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial targets, monitoring expenses and revenue streams to optimize profitability.

Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.

Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.

Understanding of the means and methods for the engineering, fabrication, finishing and installation of architectural woodwork, casework, and millwork.

Ensuring all production is completed safely, efficiently, in a timely manner, and confirms the quality of the final product meets company standards.

Development and implementation of the Preventative Maintenance Schedule and Safety Plan.

Education & Experience

Millwork production experience or related degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education or experience will be considered.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

Proven experience (5 years plus) in a leadership role within the millwork manufacturing industry, demonstrating a deep understanding of production processes and best practices.

Sound knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)

Must be able to work effectively with vendors, corporate staff and ownership and possess strong leadership and people development skills. Conflict management/resolution and negotiation/persuasion skills critical.

Strong leadership abilities, with a history of inspiring teams to achieve exceptional results and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Thorough knowledge of millwork materials, machinery, and techniques, coupled with a keen eye for detail and craftsmanship.

Knowledge and experience in product and architectural drawings.

Possess strong written and verbal skills and the ability to work and communicate effectively in a high volume, high pace environment.

Certified to operative Mobile Equipment

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook to include spreadsheets and office automation and presentation software, especially in Excel, Adobe, and Word.
