Summary:

As an Application Developer, responsibilities include building and maintaining scalable, predictable, and high-quality applications, as well as building new functionality for existing systems.

Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Devise or modify current solutions to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.

Prepare detail specifications from which programs and test cases will be written

Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities including analysis, development and execution of unit testing

Participate in Code reviews by reviewing others code and having their code reviewed by other developers

Interaction / communication/ follow through with QA throughout testing phase to facilitate iterative cycle

Perform necessary investigation, and analysis to assist in the definition of systems set-up, process control and user support.

Participate in planning and troubleshooting of infrastructure migration and upgrades.

Execute, review and correct vulnerabilities in software based on vulnerability and penetration testing results. Competencies:

Ability to work independently, often as the only QAA assigned to a project or new Enterprise Solution. Qualifications:

Required

Bachelor of Science Degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience

Proficient with Microsoft T-SQL, MS Office Suite

At least 3 years experience developing and supporting software applications

Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with development staff Preferred

Web development or Power Systems experience, as required:

Query for IBM i Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis

Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day.

Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day.

Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.

Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day.
