Overview

Silicon Valley Logistics (SVL) is one of Amazon’s newest delivery partners in the Bay Area. We’re looking for an Operations Manager to build and operate multiple core areas of our business including, scheduling, fleet management, training, vendor relationships, Amazon relationship, and overall team management and motivation.

It’s ok if you don’t have experience in all these areas, but you absolutely must be focused on quality, be detailed oriented, and have a passion to crush your goals – which will be reasonably set. You’ll be working alongside some of the most experienced operations leaders in the industry, who will insure you learn and grow in your career.

Duties & Responsibilities

Run all aspects of our multi-million dollar logistics business.

Own operations, financial management, strategy, staffing, hiring, and executive reporting.

You’ll effectively be operating as one of the heads of the company.

Ensure Drivers are properly scheduled.

Ensure routes are adequately staffed.

Ensure personnel are properly trained.

Ensure the vehicle fleet is well managed and maintained.

Hire new Drivers as our business grows.

Build a strong culture focusing on safety, results, and fun!

Address issues impacting safety and quality -- quickly and decisively.

Build a strong working relationship with our partner – Amazon!

Oversee training programs to develop strong professionals.

Manage, train, and develop dispatchers and fleet managers for your team.

Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.

Care about money – a lot – because the more we make, the more you make!

Be financially responsible with the company’s assets and spending.

Be a problem solver, come up with new ways of efficiently solving challenges.

Skills Needed

Paranoia: Be unyielding in your pursuit of safety – priority #1, #2, and #3!

Passion: Be passionate about making EVERY end-customer happy

Leadership: Lead from the front – command respect – be willing to walk in their shoes

Empathy: Have compassion where needed and a willingness to coach

Financial: Understand numbers – financials, operating metrics, scorecards

Negotiation: Negotiate hard (but fair) with vendors

Collaboration: Build a great culture where we all help each other!

Technical: Good with Excel, mobile devices, and other technology

Fun Loving: We should have fun – or we shouldn’t be doing this!

Comp

Salary of $66,560 per year

Up to $8,440 in bonus opportunity, based on results, paid weekly.

$75,000 in total comp potential

Must work at least 1 weekend day

The hours are long – but they can be flexible.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University

Strong ability to multitask

Strong attention to detail is an absolute must!

Strong written and verbal communication skills
