General Counsel

Our client is an emerging Credit Union looking to add an Associate General Counsel to their growing legal department sitting out of their Orange County office. This is an exciting opportunity to get exposure across various levels of the business and work closely with the General Counsel and have visibility to C-Suite members.

The responsibilities include, all day-to-day legal support in relation to commercial and consumer lending along with ad hoc matters involving corporate policy and regulatory and compliance.

Ideal candidates have extensive knowledge of a wide range of legal matters including commercial lending, consumer lending, corporate governance, regulatory standards and management of outside counsel. The firm is looking for candidates with excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively work with senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide day to day legal support to the firm on a variety of legal matters, in addition to occasional support in relation to loan and account products and services with a focus on consumer protection, collections, mortgage servicing, indirect lending, and industry partnerships.

Handle all aspects of corporate policy, legal management of all business units, and maintaining the legal department in good standing

Maintain a strong understanding of firm's legal and compliance requirements with company's mission in mind

Qualifications:

7+ Years of Experience within corporate law, commercial/consumer lending, payments or related field

Both In-House and Law Firm experience preferred, but will consider Big Law background

Track record of leading and contributing to the success of legal teams
