Chief Accounting Officer, Philippines

Our client is a leading shipping group and is looking for an experienced Chief Accounting Officer to join their team in the Philippines.

Working as part of a global team, you will provide expertise and guidance to the team in Manila to ensure all applicable rules and regulations are adhered to, as well as providing financial information to the Head Office in Europe.

You will:- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts and projections and effectively manage cash balances; Supervise and assist the team in performing daily accounting processes to properly record, classify and control financial transactions; Supervise the monthly reconciliation of crew manning fees, expenses and procedures for crew payroll; Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts; Coordinate the preparation of audits and tax returns; Prepare and review monthly management and year-end statutory reports.

Successful candidates will be ACCA / CPA qualified or other accounting professional qualifications, supported by at least 3 years' experience in accounting and finance within the maritime sector.

Ideally, you will have experience of crew payroll processes.

You will possess proven experience with GL functions and month-end / year-end processes.

As you will be reporting with the European Head Office, fluency in English is essential (verbal and written), and knowledge of SAP will be an advantage.
