Position Overview:

Responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security.

The ideal consultant will have advanced technical skills, extensive experience with system administration tasks, and a proven track record of implementing and supporting complex IT systems.

Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking devices, and virtualization platforms.

Manage and administer Windows and Linux server environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.

Implement and maintain Active Directory services, including user account management, group policy, and domain controllers.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform capacity planning to ensure efficient operation of IT systems.

Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.

Configure and maintain virtualization platforms, such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V, to support server consolidation and workload optimization.

Collaborate with IT teams to plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities.

Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to protect IT assets from unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.

Provide technical support and guidance to junior IT staff and end-users, resolving escalated technical issues in a timely manner.

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in system administration and IT infrastructure.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

3-5 years of experience in system administration, with a focus on managing Windows and Linux server environments.

Deep understanding of Active Directory administration, including user and group management, group policy, and domain services.

Proficiency in configuring and managing virtualization platforms, such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.

Experience with server hardware, storage systems, and networking technologies.

Strong knowledge of system monitoring and management tools, such as Nagios, Zabbix, or SolarWinds.

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Experience:

Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSE, RHCE, VMware VCP).

Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and configuration management tasks.

Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes.

Experience with ITIL framework and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.

Project management skills and experience leading IT infrastructure projects.

Pay Rate: $65 - $70 / hr.
