Test Automation Engineer

Provides counsel and advice to top management on significant Q&A matters, often requiring coordination between organizations. Provides consultation at the highest technical level to project teams and client areas assisting with the successful development and implementation of effective computer systems applications across multiple computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server). Consults with client and IT management and staff throughout the project life cycle, to assist and support the design, development and implementation of effective systems. Drafts, revises and approves test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standards and IT strategy. Creates test data files with valid and invalid records to thoroughly test program logic and verify system flow. Collaborates with users to plan user acceptance testing, alpha and beta testing. Ensures that system tests are successfully completed and documented and all problems are resolved. Analyzes, designs new or modified Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and standards and assists in the development and implementation of QA metrics for assessing the quality of delivered application software. Participates in the review of new QA software and consults with IT staff and client areas in resolving questions during the testing process. Works with client and IT management and staff to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology. Focuses on providing thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines. Recognized internally as "the go-to person" for the most complex Quality Assurance & Testing assignments. Some amount of manual web testing will also be required.

Required Technical Skills and Experience

• Expertise developing automated test scripts using Selenium, JavaScript, node.js and JSON. Preferably integration to Jenkins and Sauce labs

• Designing test automation strategy for large, complex, and cross-functional projects

• Able to perform testing functions on multiple platforms. This environment will be focused on Drupal 8/9/10, PHP, and React

• Defining test process including required test activities, deliverables and test schedule

• Identifying and leading process improvement across the QA organization. Promotes business effectiveness and efficiency while striving for innovation, flexibility, automation and integration with technology

• Ensuring employees and vendor partners are meeting all testing standards by conducting reviews of all the test deliverables/artifacts

• Consulting with both inter-organizational and outside client contact to ensure the use of best practices and industry standards

• Understanding of how changes impact work upstream and downstream

• Independently estimating and re-estimating projects while recognizing and communicating dependencies in cross functional testing as well as data to complete estimates

• Assisting with the on-boarding new team members including content development and training

• Solving complex problems; applying new perspectives to existing solutions

• Working independently with minimal guidance

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant work experience

• Expert level system test automation experience

• Expertise developing automated test scripts using Selenium, JavaScript, node.js and JSON. Preferably integration to Jenkins and Sauce labs

• Experience in Agile development methodology

• Good understanding of multiple test automation frameworks and Dev Ops

• Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, learn quickly and solve problems

• Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs

• Demonstrated advanced technical and analytical skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adjust to meet the needs of the audience

• Detail oriented with the ability to work and guide others during time constraints to meet deadlines

dditional Desired Technical Skills and Experience

• Performance testing experience is a plus, especially JMeter testing

• Demonstrated ability to mentor and train teams

• Managing the flow of information to internal and external clients as well as leadership

• Strong leadership/influencing skill
