About The Role:
We are seeking an Editorial intern to work closely with the Chief Copy Editor. This person will edit content for Cars Commerce News, Reviews and Research sections. The intern also will build stories for publication in a content management system. The Intern Copy Editor must be a stickler for detail, willing to dig into spreadsheets, charts and stories to make sure the facts are correct. This person will edit stories for Associated Press and Cars.com style and grammar. Heavy computer use is part of the role.
Responsibilities Include:
Copy edit content for Cars.com
Be adept at checking information from many sources
Update and/or write stories as needed
Work with editors on creating and updating content for their sections
Work across teams to edit social media posts, video transcripts and other items
Build and publish stories and reviews in our content management system
Ensure writing and headlines meet SEO best practices
About You:
Strong writing and editing skills
Ability to conduct online research
Interest in online publishing and/or automotive journalism
Ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines
Proficiency in Google’s G Suite
Preferred:
Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, new media, English or other communications-related major
Interest in automotive
Experience with WordPress or other CMS
Additional Information:
Pay rate: $17.50/hour
Part-time: 20-30 hours per week

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position which is not inclusive of bonuses, benefits or other forms of compensation that the position may be eligible for. If you are hired at Cars Commerce, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills and/or experience. Salary Range
$17.50—$17.50 USD
