Software Engineer

COOLSOFT LLC has an opening for the position of Software Engineer (Ref# SE514SECAGEN) to work in Louisville, KY and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.

Job Duties: Design, develop, implement, test, and maintain business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs including mainframe and client/server applications, and major enhancement of existing systems.

Fine-tune and improve a variety of sophisticated software implementation projects.

Involved in coding of CA Gen procedures.

Conduct impact analysis by interacting with the users on changes required.

Maintain and enhance the applications.

Provide users with technical and business support to keep systems current with client policies and industry technologies, which continue to change at a rapid pace.

Perform application development, technical architecture, database administration, configuration management, application and production support, and training.

Involved in unit, system, and regression testing.

Prepare the test plans, test data, and document the test results in defect tracking tool.

Contribute to peer reviews of test plans and test results.

Schedule the jobs and monitor the schedule information through CA7.

Use of CA Gen (formerly AllFusion / COOL:Gen), COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, Endevor, Host Encyclopedia, CA7, SPUFI, File-AID, Quality Center, MVS, Report Composer, and Windows.

Travel and/or relocation required.REQUIREMENTS: Position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.

Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Software IT Consultant, Programmer Analyst, Computer Programmer, Systems Analyst, or related experience.

Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience.

Position requires 2 years of experience with CA Gen, Host Encyclopedia, COBOL, DB2, and CICS.

Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein.
