We are currently seeking a Senior Data Architect to work at our contractor sitein the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area supporting a growing PetaByte-scale data storage and cloud opportunity in the civilian space.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain data in a secure Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) compliant cloud infrastructure (currently in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and IBM Storage Scale) compliant with agency security requirements and latest industry standard data encryption both in transit and at rest

Establish a Data Preparation and Dissemination Plan for large sets of data to be reviewed and updated based on customer needs, including full Data Life Cycle Management

Architect, design, develop, implement, and maintain complex data infrastructures on multiple clouds

Analyze changes to technical implementation, source data streams, administrator/analytic/BI tools, interfaces, application services, and business policies and provide recommendations for implementing industry standard best practices

Support data capacity planning for larger data volumes

Assist in preparing technical reporting artifacts with appropriate context and scope for senior leaders of varying technical acumen

Communicate with senior leadership on the technical aspects of solutions in verbal and written formats

Make oral presentations to audiences of varying technical capabilities to evangelize and/or reinforce large data format solutions proposed

Create technical Proof of Concepts (POCs) to highlight the innovative solutions that can be applied to the customer data operationsRequirements

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

One or more of the following certifications:

AWS Certified Data Engineer - Associate

Data Science Council of America (DASCA) Senior Data Architect (SDA) Certification

Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate

Google Professional Data Engineer Certification

SAS Certified Big Data Professional

IBM Certified Data Architect – Big Data

Active ITIL certification

10+ years of experience actively maintaining and architecting various infrastructures

Experience managing federal data management and large data strategy solutions

Experience with one or more different Agile methodologies including Scrum, Lean, SAfe

Experience preparing project cost estimates to include but not limited to, labor, travel, equipment and software

Proficiency with written technical proposals and review of proposals for technical integrity, quantification of risk, and strategic direction

Experience architecting, working with scaled, adaptive, performantly efficient and resilient data architectures

Experience provisioning and managing Petabyte-scale cloud data solutions

Successful client report and customer liaison experience

Must possess a strong, proactive work ethic and superior collaboration skillsPreferred

Agile certification (i.e., PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Manager; SAFe Agilist)

Master’s Degree in related field of study or equivalent years of experience

Large data management experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
