YMCA discount and more! Purpose and Scope of Job:

The purpose of this position is to ensure sales projects ship out on time, are complete in scope and meet or exceed the customer's expectations. The Project Manager will manage the order timeline for complex, priority or high risk orders to be determined by the project criteria matrix.The Project Manager will manage and proactively communicate progress and delays to all parties involved in a project or sales order.

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

Manage process flow of project orders and report to customer and internal organization.

Ensure milestones from order entry to delivery are on track for on time delivery of product, drawings, documentation and other customer requirements

Work with field sales and applications engineers to determine the scope of each project, document project milestones and deliverables from inception to completion.

Represent Sumitomo at customer kick off and progress meetings as needed

Review order specifications, including contractual requirements, scope of supply, delivery expectations and all discrepancies between sales, the customers and actual manufacturing of the product.

Develop a project plan for each project requirement.

Develop schedules for each project using customer milestones and internal benchmarks.

Manage and utilize the Technical Document Coordinator as it relates to performance, productivity and workload

Engage with each process owner to ensure steps are complete and on time.

Proactively report all discrepancies and potential delays to customer service, engineering team, etc.

Complete departmental metrics. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent experience.

Three (3) years of project management experience.

Knowledge of rotating equipment, such as gearboxes, is preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or be able to obtain PMP certification within 12 months of hire.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project).

Excellent communication skills.

Employee management experience

Ability to work in a team environment and be a participative team member.

Ability to travel to customers and end user sites as required by the customer or project.

Work Conditions & Physical Environment:

Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal/typewriter; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds. Some duties may be performed in an industrial environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
