IT Quality Assurance Analyst

Anticipated Starting Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Starting Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience

The State Corporation Commission's (SCC) Information Technology Division (ITD) is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to perform day to day operational testing, including web-based application, system and integration, and ad-hoc and exploratory testing. The QA Analyst will analyze requirements and design documents to develop test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for web-based applications and infrastructure; select the appropriate tools; perform gap analysis between the requirements and the test cases; develop entrance and exit criteria, as well as timelines; and execute tests according to prepared test cases. The Quality Assurance Analyst will work with a team to maintain and develop standard operating procedures and technical documentation, as well as analyze requirements and design testing plans. The selected candidate will perform user acceptance tests representing the appropriate test scenarios and level of detail for business users. The Quality Assurance Analyst will also be responsible for: creating applications; performing functional testing, integration testing, and end to end testing; identifying and tracking bugs; communicating results from testing for the development team and business area to replicate; and scheduling and facilitating user acceptance testing activities. Ad-hoc testing will be performed in accordance with industry standards and best practices in application design. This position offers a hybrid work schedule (generally 3 days of telework, 2 days in office each week) as well as training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications for this position include experience in testing web-based and infrastructure applications. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred but not required. Strong documentation skills are critical for this position and candidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical matters to non-technical business users. The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with SCC staff is essential. The ability to test applications with no requirements and create test cases based on ad-hoc testing and user manuals is required. Experience building the Test Automation Framework from scratch and maintaining automation test suites is essential. Thorough knowledge in the use of a personal computer, including in Microsoft Office365, .Net applications, and SQL is essential. Ideal candidates will have expertise in the use of Visual Studio Test edition with Selenium C# and Microsoft Test Automation tools like Azure Test Plans and Playwright or any one test automation tool experience. Any knowledge of or experience with Oracle forms, SharePoint, Team Foundation Server and/or Microsoft Test Manager is a plus.
