Job Description

You will be reporting to the Lead Road Engineer and your responsibilities will include:

Responsible for the design, project management, contract administration withing the roads department.

Performing roads and highways design from inception to final design in accordance with design standards using roadway design software (specific knowledge in geometrics design will be an added advantage).

Providing input and technical guidance to CAD designers / draughters and lower-level engineers / technologists / technicians.

Design software knowledge

Excellent understanding of engineering concepts and application of knowledge,

Good understanding of industry codes and standards,

To perform all work in accordance with the Companys Quality Management System (QMS), Policies and Standards.

Checking and verifying designs done by design team members.

Managing and directing design teams where required.

Act as design team leader on identified project components.

Liaising with clients where required.

Developing an understanding of industry codes and standards and client specifications and client expectations.

Developing an understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.

Qualifications

BTech/BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering

PrEng / PrTechEng

Skills

MS Office Applications, MS Project

Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil Designer, Civil 3D

Good understanding of (GCC, FIDIC, NEC, JBCC),

5+ years experience required in roads and stormwater.

Must be familiar with road design standards and procedures

Excellent planning, organising and analytical skills
