Duties & Responsibilities

Learning and operating energy modelling tools such as OSeMOSYS, PyPSA, PVsyst, Helioscope, Homer Pro, and others as required according to business and project needs.

Developing knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and power systems engineering as it relates to renewable energy, energy storage, and other technologies and systems related to power generation, including grid connections of such systems, and electrical distribution and transmission systems.

Developing skills and contributing to renewable energy project development, feasibility studies, designs and specifications, design reviews, energy modelling, analyses and simulations, technical reports, etc.

Qualifications and Experience

Compulsory: BSc/BEng in mechanical or electrical engineering

Desirable: Masters degree, ECSA PrEng attained or in progress

2+ Years Experience.

Experience in and passion for the renewable energy / electricity sector.

Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and preferably Power BI.

Proficient with at least one of the programming languages such as Python or Excel VBA.

Experience with electricity-related technologies such as solar PV, wind, gas turbines, energy storage, electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure.

Experience with energy- / electricity-related software packages such as OSeMOSYS, PyPSA, Plexos, PVsyst, Homer Pro, Helioscope, Siemens PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory would be beneficial.

Candidate attributes:

Strong academic record.

Analytical mind-set and desire to work with analytics / modelling, modelling of renewable energy and battery energy storage systems. Can demonstrate ability to quickly grasp, analyse, interpret, present, and communicate on complex technical concepts, including ability to work with large datasets.

Can demonstrate desire for self-learning and development of technical skills and knowledge.
