Python Software Engineer

We are looking for a Python Software Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing and improving our data technology for our enterprise-class applications. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with web development.

In this position, you'll be responsible for:

Writing “clean”, well-designed code

Producing detailed specifications

Developing and deploying new features using Agile and similar methodologies

Supporting production processing by troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise around data processing, performance and set-up

Developing and maintaining the software responsible for the manipulation of data including parsing, matching loading and publishing. streamline, introduce efficiencies, eliminate errors and increase accuracy

Designing, developing and maintaining efficient and robust ETL workflows which produce data extracts and process feeds between various internal and third-party partners

Troubleshooting, testing and maintaining the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality

Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle, including participating in Pull request process for peer code review

Following industry best practices

Required Experience:

Total of 4+ years of full-stack web development to include:

Front-end: HTML, JavaScipt, CCS

Middle: set up web server and log production web server

Back-end: write logic in Python

Query, design, and development of databases, specifically with SQL, Postgres or MySQL

Web frameworks such as Flask, Django

Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL

Preferred Experience:

RestFul API design and integrations

Data integration and ETL, data warehousing, and data mart concepts

Git or other version control tools

Automation and continuous integrations

Agile environment and testing frameworks (eg. unittest/pytest)

Comfortable with basic shell scripting in a Unix environment

Development with Celery or experience with pub/sub pattern (ie.RabbitMQ)

Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud computing platforms

ORM Implementation (SQLAlchemy)

Deploy web infrastructure using Apache, Nginx, gunicorn, or u WSGI

Familiarity with scheduling frameworks, preferably Airflow
