SA0787 - Radiologic Technologist - Rockford, IL - 13 Weeks Contract

Sigma Healthcare team is currently looking for a Radiologic Technologist to work onsite at our client's healthcare facility in Rockford, IL.

Shift : Friday, Saturday, Sunday 06:30pm - 07:00am

Summary:

Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and related techniques. Administers x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. May be required to alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call. May be asked to flex hours and overtime as necessary to provide quality patient care at assigned sites(s).Works as part of a multidisciplinary team, serving on committees and participating in projects as requested. Responsibilities:

Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, c-arm and fluoroscopic procedures.

Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, ensuring information is documented and available to the radiologist and provider.

Prepares and positions patient for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.

Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices and accessories to successfully perform procedures.

Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.

Immobilizes patient as required for examination.

Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patient during procedures.

Initiates basic life support when necessary.

Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors.

Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.

Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.

Uses radiology information systems (including PACS), completes all required records and reports, submits images and data for physician review and interpretation.

Provides practical instruction for radiography students and other partners.

Observes universal protocol, standard precautions and appropriate patient identifiers.

Applies principles of patient safety during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.

Utilities appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers.

Operates mobile radiologic equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside.

Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.

Prepares contrast media and assists in administration. Education and Experience:

Graduate of an accredited radiography program. Certification and Licensure:

2-3 years' experience.

Current BLS.
