Summary:
The Sanitation Manager will ensure the effectiveness of the cleaning and sanitization program to maintain an appropriate environment for the manufacture of safe products. They will coordinate team activities and ensures they have the tools, equipment and materials so that cleaning, sanitization, laundry, mold washing and pest control processes at the plant are done well the first time. The manager will also comply with corporate sanitation standards to ensure the safety and quality of our products while complying with and maintaining the safety, health and environmental requirements applicable to this position.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Ensure the effectiveness of the MSS (Master Sanitation Schedule Program) through:
Develop an MSS and associated procedures for each area or team.
Plan the times required for the program
Update and keep MSS results available
Confirm effectiveness through Integrated Pest Management and EMMP
Ensures the effectiveness of Integrated Pest Management through:
Develop and maintain a pest control map
Ensure that the area has enough time to comply with the program
Ensure compliance with chemical control, pest control, GMP's, PEP and HACCP programs as well as evaluate them in personnel management, use work equipment, and use materials appropriately.
With the support of site leaders, follow up on deviations found in internal audits, in terms of documentation, cleaning of facilities and production lines.
Serving suppliers. In order to improve the processes of the department by making them more efficient, safe for staff, better quality and lower cost.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
Basic knowledge of expense management and control
Knowledge in Food Industry Quality Control Systems as well as FDA Criteria and Good Manufacturing Practices (BPM's)
Knowledge in microbiology, microbial elimination systems and sanitization of food plants
Knowledge in computational packages (Microsoft Office)
Financial mandate competencies (Business travel, fourteenth overtime payment, corporate card usage, leased vehicle acquisition)
Education/Certifications:
B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Microbiology or related field or equivalent related experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 yrs. of related experience required
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) Certification is strongly preferred
SQF Certification is preferred
Preventive Control Qualified Individual (PCQI) Certification is preferred
Allergens Management preferred
QA related experience in a high-speed automated Consumer Goods manufacturing environment preferred (e.g. production of food, beverages, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, household goods, and/or tobacco)
