About the Job:

JMP Customer Alliance seeks a Science & Technology Editor to join our global team. In this customer-facing role, you will interview scientists and engineers across the Asia Pacific region to report on how applied statistics is accelerating scientific breakthroughs. Through the power of storytelling, you will assist our users in advocating for statistical enablement, data literacy, and increased awareness around the power of data.

As a member of our team, you might:

Create video stories about the latest developments in cancer biology, microchip miniaturization, digital transformation, or natural language processing – all from the perspective of the domain experts who use JMP in industry.

Interview a materials scientist about how her team engineered a new biodegradable coating for solar panels; then write an article and create social tiles to promote the story on JMP.com/success.

Attend JMP User Group meetings and JMP Discovery Summit – our annual conference for customers – to interview users in person.

Share what you learn from your conversations with JMP users with JMP Product Management and Sales teams.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, STEM-related field, or any combination thereof.

Native proficiency in English and fluency in Chinese are required. Any additional language skills (e.g., Japanese) are a plus.

Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific ideas clearly and effectively.

Excellent research skills. Aptitude for distilling insights from a variety of academic and professional sources. Firm understanding of research citation standards and source bias.

Aptitude for interviewing. In this role, you will conduct interviews with subject matter experts and industry leaders.

Strong interpersonal skills, with the desire to build rapport with JMP customers both in-person and virtually.

Passion for internal collaboration. You will work closely with JMP Sales, Marketing, Product Management and User Enablement to align content strategy with business priorities.

Passion for science, technology, and the power of data. A keen interest in learning about the applications of statistical analysis in a broad range of industries and academic fields.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance.

Interest in working with colleagues and customers globally. In this role, you will report to the US-based manager and work with our small team across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Experience with content management systems, social media platforms, and productivity tools like (e.g., Atlassian platforms) is a plus.

Prior experience in journalism, science communication, or academic research and publications is preferred but not required.

Video editing experience is preferred but not required.
