Description:

Engineer design enablement solutions for product design on Polar’s semiconductor device fabrication technologies through the development and distribution of process design kits (PDKs).

JOB DUTIES

Provide process design kits (PDKs) to Polar’s foundry customers

Develop, release, and maintain PDK elements, such as circuit design components (schematic symbols, pcells), design verification decks (DRC, LVS, extract), and pattern density checking tools

Create design environments within Polar to support design and development of power semiconductor devices, electrical and physical characterization modules, PCMs, in-line process monitors

Receive PDKs from Polar affiliates and development partners and release these PDKs to users

Administer third-party EDA tools

Develop and maintain applications used for automated reticle build from customer GDS data

Identify, order, install, and maintain Linux software solutions used by the Polar engineering and technology teams

Support administration of Linux network used by Polar technical staff, including software and hardware configurations, projects, maintenance schedules, and service agreements

Provide solutions for design and release of physical and electrical test structures needed to monitor and verify successful fabrication of Polar’s semiconductor products

Provide training and support to users of the Polar PDKs, design environment and applications

REQUIREMENTS

Requires a Master’s degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science with 2 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience

Knowledge of semiconductor EDA flows, tools and practices

Experience working in Linux / Unix environments

Programming skills and experience

Experience working with commercially available EDA tools for IC design, such as those available from Cadence, Synopsys, or Siemens

Programming skills

Ability to propose and implement solutions that address broad requirements and factors

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Team focus, experience, and skills

Basic understanding of semiconductor device physics at the transistor design level

Fundamental understanding of Analog and Mixed-Signal Circuit Design

Skills in device model verification is a plus

Familiarity with semiconductor device fabrication methods is a plus
