Overview:

Job Title: Summer Engineering Intern

Job Location: Melville, NY

Salary: $22.00-$23.00/hr

Assists in solving engineering problems in one or more phases of development. Provides support to engineering projects involving the analysis, research, design, development, fabrication, and testing of devices or systems. Assignments may be varied and require originality and ingenuity. Works under the general supervision of senior engineering.

Responsibilities:

Investigates and conducts studies on specifications and requirements of the project.

Analyzes original circuit design.

Assists in supplying technical assistance and coordination to designers and staff assigned to the project.

May be involved in designing and planning wiring layouts and schematics.

Prepares and arranges the test setup.

Checks performance of devices during tests and evaluates the results.

Provides technical assistance in the preparation of spare parts lists, special tools, test equipment, and other engineering data.

Specifies the procurement of specialized components and test equipment.

May assist in preparation of bids and proposals.

Uses PC-based Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) Programs of moderate complexity.

Collate data and generate development reports/presentations for senior engineering review

Performs other similar related tasks as assigned.

Maintains a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendors.

Qualifications:

Working towards a Bachelor’s degree Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience writing technical specifications and other technical documents is a plus.

Microsoft Office proficiency
