YOUR PURPOSE:

The DevOps Engineer I is an integral part of the IT team, focusing on supporting the development and operation of software applications within our infrastructure. This entry-level role will assist in utilizing a range of DevOps tools and services, primarily in cloud environments such as AWS and Azure. The role requires a proactive mindset towards learning automation, infrastructure management, and CI/CD practices to support system reliability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of cloud technologies, IaC, and security principles, with a strong willingness to engage in continuous learning and team collaboration.

Responsibilities:

· Assist in designing and managing CI/CD pipelines, including the use of Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions for automated build, test, and deployment processes.

· Support the use and management of Azure and AWS services, aiming for scalable, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions.

· Contribute to the use of Terraform and Bicep for IaC, aiding in efficient provisioning and management of cloud resources.

· Help secure data and credentials, learning to use tools such as Azure Key Vault and HashiCorp Vault for enhanced security measures.

· Participate in the creation of machine images with Packer for consistent deployments across different platforms.

· Aid in managing artifacts and dependencies using repository management tools for binary repository access.

· Work collaboratively with development, QA, operations, and security teams to promote a culture of automation and proactive incident management.

· Stay updated with new technologies and tools to meet the changing needs of the business and technical landscapes.

· Learn from and contribute to team knowledge in DevOps practices, tools, and technologies.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

· Familiarity with cloud services, such as AWS and Azure, and basic cloud architecture concepts.

· Some experience or coursework with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, HashiCorp Vault, Packer, or similar tools.

· Understanding of CI/CD principles and eagerness to learn about pipeline tools.

· Knowledge of artifact management concepts.

· Interest in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for microservice deployment.

· Basic scripting skills with shell scripts or Python is a plus.

· Awareness of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools to maintain system performance.

· Basic knowledge of network, security, and database concepts in cloud settings.

· Problem-solving mindset with a capacity to learn and apply scalable and efficient solutions.

Soft Skills:

· Strong desire to learn and grow in a technical team environment.

· Good communication skills, with an ability to share ideas clearly.

· Open to collaboration and able to contribute to team efforts.

· Organized and capable of managing tasks in a dynamic environment.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant work experience.

Experience:

· 0-2 years of experience in IT, development, or operations, with a willingness to develop expertise in DevOps practices.

· Exposure to cloud environments, automation tools, and DevOps methodologies is a plus.
