Join us in developing pioneering therapies that aim to transform the treatment of CKD and change patients’ lives. Our technology is designed to treat diseased kidneys using a patient’s own cells and may prevent or delay dialysis or transplant.

This position will lead all aspects of the Company’s tax process including compliance, tax planning, strategic projects, international transfer pricing and statutory reporting for foreign jurisdictions. In addition to providing leadership in these areas, this position will be responsible for maintaining regular communications with the management team to facilitate their understanding of the technical aspects of the tax and statutory reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for end-to-end leadership of global tax planning projects, including providing technical analysis, project and transaction implementation leadership and ensuring appropriate documentation for use in accounting, compliance and tax audit cycles.

• Serve as an internal tax technical leader and primary contact for external tax attorneys and accountants.

• Provide guidance to the business with respect to US trade or business and inversion requirements defining risks and strategies to achieve desired objectives.

• Provide guidance to management regarding complexities related to Up-C structure and tax receivable agreement including both tax compliance and financial accounting/disclosure requirements.

• Monitor legislative changes and communicate impacts to senior management.

• Responsible for performing or coordinating tax analysis and research related to global tax planning initiatives, cross-border transactions, transfer pricing and audit activities.

• Facilitate and manage the preparation, review and timely filing of applicable federal, state, local and international tax returns.

• Identify US and international income tax planning opportunities to improve tax efficiency and control US federal income tax risk.

• Responsible for managing outside advisors in connection with key strategic projects, tax planning initiatives and ongoing compliance procedures.

• Facilitate and manage the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions for SEC reporting.

• Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.

• Manage cash taxes and oversee all aspects of the tax forecasting process.

• Manage the process for timely preparation and submission of required statutory filings in applicable jurisdictions, including statutory financials for Irish entities, Economic Substance Returns for Cayman and Bermuda entities and other such requirements.

Education/Training

Bachelor's degree in accounting required.

Licenses/Certifications

CPA Required

Experience

• 10+ years of corporate income tax experience in the areas of US corporate and international income tax planning and hands-on implementation of related tax strategies

• Direct experience with UP-C and TRA structures and related tax compliance and tax reporting preferred

Skills/Abilities

Demonstrated ability to identify and communicate complicated tax issues in terms of impact to the business.

Ability to proactively understand and address statutory requirements rather than being reactive.

Exceptional communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships.

Strong leadership skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.
