The IT Business Intelligence Manager has day-to-day oversight over the operations of the analytics platform, including IT systems, ETL processes, reports, subscriptions, applications and the accuracy and integrity of the underlying data. This position needs to be able to work with executives as well as developers, programmers and data administrators. This position is responsible for managing prioritization of each unit's workload, establishing standards for coding and documentation as well as supporting the governance process for the analytics platform.

Essential Duties:

Responsible for the support and maintenance of developed applications, solutions and modules.

Manages daily operations of unit and provides specific technical expertise for function supervised. Works closely with the development team to manage the delivery/deployment of complex projects and lends technical assistance to others as needed. Resolves problems referred by staff.

Responsible for managing and supporting robust change control processes, including but not limited to version management, and being able to deliver change documentation and coordination of change activities.

Consults with users on project requests or for problem resolution. Develops solutions, designs and specifications to satisfy user needs. Develops project schedules; plans and estimates staffing and other resource requirements. Supervises the work of staff to ensure project plans and schedules are adhered to. Follows up with users to ensure satisfaction with services provided.

Coordinates with vendors to obtain proposals for purchases of hardware, software and technical services. Analyzes proposals and makes recommendations. Orders, ships and/or receives goods or services. Verifies purchases.

Participates in development and documentation of internal operating policies and procedures. Assists in development and dissemination of policies and procedures for users. Provides interpretation as required.

Networks with professional counterparts inside and outside the university. Participates in professional associations to stay informed of new developments in field and technology changes. Makes recommendations to senior management regarding technology changes based on developments in field and business needs.

Serves as a project manager on departmental projects.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Req Bachelor's degree in related field (preferably in Information Systems or Business Administration)

Req 3 years Experience related to data warehousing, analytics and database systems.

Req 3 years Experience in a leadership/supervisory/lead role.

Req Hands-on experience with SQL Server, SQL, MDX, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS..

Req Has in depth knowledge and understanding of Business Intelligence functions, including dimensional modeling, data warehousing, ETL, OLAP and reporting.

Req Organization/time management skills.

Req Demonstrates ability to utilize effective, appropriate and diplomatic oral and written communication skills.

Req Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning and evaluation skills.

Req Demonstrates ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pref Health care experience.

Pref Certification - Job Relevant Industry standard certifications pertaining to data warehousing.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,240.00 - $181,896.00.
